Addiction…God heals every last ounce of it   Leave a comment

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Cor 10:13)

If you don’t believe in God, I cannot help you; neither can God.  If you claim to be a believer in Messiah Jesus, I know that He will set you FREE and I can help put you on the road to true freedom from addiction FOREVER!  All you need is faith.

God is there if you want Him.  Faith is there if you embrace it.

Addiction: Withdrawal   Leave a comment

Addiction Withdrawal is slightly different yet mostly similar for each person. It occurs one of two ways.

The first way withdrawal occurs is through abruptly stopping an addictive substance. This is most dangerous…sometimes, life threatening. You need to be closely moitored by a physician so that you don’t run into problems and so that you can be made as comfortable as is possible. You will need to be medically and properly “detoxed” either at home or in a facility such as a hospital or equipped rehab. Don’t do this yourself!

The second way withdrawal occurs is through being on addictive substances for a period of time (more than 3 months) and you’re body starts needing more in order to overcome feeling sick (“drug sick”). This is when you’re not getting the same high as you once were getting and you are finding that adding more of the drug helps prevent you from feeling drug sick. If you’re in this place, you kow exactly what I’m talking about. You add more in order to get the same high you once did. Time goes on and you are now taking hits in order to prevent withdrawal and your dosages start increasing and increasing and increasing. This is the point when people die of “Accidental Overdose”. You see the celebs on TV dying this way all the time; there are many more people who are not celebrities dying this way, each and every single day. It is “unexpected”. People don’t do this on purpose. It’s for a lack of knowledge that they die while just trying to avoid withdrawal (drug sickness). There are even kids who will try just “one” pill from mom’s medicine cabinet, only to be found dead by a family member soon after. It can only take one pill or one hit sometimes. Drugging is a game of roulette.

What am I trying to say? You can’t escape withdrawal. What you CAN do is have this short period of time properly managed professionally…by a doctor in order to minimize the symptoms and make you as camfortable as possible. It’s difficult, but definitely do-able and so worth the rewards of a clear mind and healthy body.
